Many Thanks
I put a post up last week about my son looking for a Seacraft and wanted to thank everyone on this site. The response was overwhelming. The folks on this site are extremely generous and always seem to look out for each other. I was sick for several days and did not get to check the site that often, but my son and I sat down and I helped him crunch the numbers on what it would cost him to create what he wants. I think he finally decided that the 19' skiff he has rigged up will last him another couple of years till he can save a larger nest egg. Think he was still gung ho on re-doing a boat till I explained that he would also need to be saving for a car in the next two years.
Thanks again and if I can ever help anyone on this site, just let me know! Brian |
no problem, Hate to part with any of my seacrafts but like to see kids getting into the rebuild process. It was not long ago that I was there myself (just turned 30 this year). I did my first transom and floor at age 19 on a old makee craft that my grandfather gave me. New cdi box for the 1980 Johnson 70 got it running and a little sweet, resin, and paint she was like new. Only had about $400-$500 total in the boat and it felt so good to have something I rebuilt by myself. Hope your son in the future will have the time and funds to do one some day.
