Excuse my ignorance...what is the large pulpit on the bow for? I have seen it quite a bit on NE boats?
Is that for harpooning whales?

Fred, they use harpoons to "gaff" the giant bft up there. Out west they are used to stick swordfish. As for me, I think they look cool, and they are a pretty good platform for taking a leak:D

Thanks for clearing that up Gillie...wasn't sure

Wind direction and speed is also very important..........reverse is good.

abe, at this time it is open to all offers. you apparently know what this boat is capable of doing. it is in great shape and ready for your electronics. hope you have a great giant blue fin season, and might I say a very profitable one. you could pay for this boat in less than one season with a little luck. tails up!!

fred, you were on the right track. the pulpit is used to ,provide a stable platform for harpooning giant blue fin tuna averaging over 600 lbs @around 18 dollars per pound. that's about $11,000 per fish . pretty good day's fishing don't you think . of course it is not for every fisherman, it takes nerves of steel, lots of skill, plenty of salt. these fish swim at up to 45 mph. it's all about the thrill of the hunt and satisfaction of the kill .it is also how some of us make a living here in the north east atlantic. rrr, may the seas be kind ta ye!
