23 I/O leaning post?

I just picked a 1972 23' I/O. There are know seats on the boat at this time. I am not to worried about bow are seating but I would like to put in a leaning post. Problem is that there is not much room between the engine hatch and the CC. The live well is also located between the two. Just curious what people have done to add a leaning post, dimensions, ect. thanks. I will get some pictures and measure the overall distance. I don't need anything to big but would still like to be able to walk behind the post.

I have a73 I/o and I ended up putting in a birdsall . I believe I have it set about 13 inches back from my pilothouse. With the doghouse theres not a lot of room. I usually step onto the engine cover.
