Im on vacation now and went out fishing today from the beach. I got out a little later than I wanted from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Water is very cloudy right now. Anyway hooked 2 snook which both broke off at my feet. I was only using 15lb so I went to buy some 30lb fluoro. Will try again as often as I can. Bait is everywhere along the beach right now. Two fish in two hours is fine with me. First time surf fishing anc its a blast.

we dont call that " breaking of " we call that a "quick release" ... lol Or "tournament release" ...

I like that. Next time I tell the story ill call it that. Lol

It gives the impression of sterwardship of the sea and intentional release...lol ... in a tounament or in record keeping "touching the leader" consitutes a "catch" and it is faster and safer to take a double rap and break a light leader than to get that jumping thing with a spear on its face close to you and cut it loose... LOL

It's a "LDR", long distance release. Anything further than a release by hand. I've had many.

the next day of fishing was rough. the water was much more clear and I could see the snook cruising the beach. there was a school of 5 big ones going up and down the beach and a pack of 3 smaller ones. I followed them and sight casted to them and only got one of the smaller ones to follow one time. later in the day went out again and got 1 Spanish mack and a small catfish.
