Perfect boat for here as well.

I have a 1999 SeaCraft23. It has some advantages due to advances in materials and design.
I have no wood to worry about, have what I think is better storage, and my scuppers are in a gutter and don't leak. I find alot of the issues and discussions to be helpful to me. It is essentially the same boat and I think the bow rail is identical. Maybe there is some useful info that can be shared.

What I found interesting was how the got away with the same hull for the 25 and then used it for the tournament 23' same boat !!!!

Mosely 21' ride compares to what ?
 

Given the rarity of the original Mosely 21' can anyone actually testify to the ride ?

A few guys posted about hulls for sale and such, just wondering what the ride was really like in typical 2'-4' steep, close, ocean chop ?

Not shopping for new boat.........this just for discussion.

All I can tell you right now is that in inter coastal chop (etc winds 15+) the hull knifes right thru and you don't really feel anything, you just hear it.

Now the other day there was a 40 + Hatteras wallowing at 1/2 plane and throwing out a real nice wake (I am behind him) so I pulled up close and the went out to pass, the boat went up pretty high and came down soft, there was a big bow splash way over the sides of the boat so much so that I did not see the Hatteras when we came down...no water in the boat. Windshield only a few drops, so I guess for now I can put the it is a wet boat theory to rest.

After being out in 4-6 over the weekend...Kept speed between 20-24 and we got plenty of wet...now the wind was blowing 20+ with a big front coming in and a lot of spray was blown back.

However I noticed on the day before that when we were out on 2-4 my windshields had a lot more water spray on them then the 20 Seafari...so I guess we can safely say the boat is not as dry. However the ride as gofastsandman will attest to is a lot different.

Yeah Terry, wetness and a smooth ride kinda go together. The sharper the "V", especially in your boat, the steeper and higher the water shoots up vertically at the bow and the easier it is for the wind to blow it all over you!!!! But you and Sharon sure looked good riding in the 21 this weekend!!! :)

The bay slop we ran together in this weekend would of easily exposed any wetting worries so I would also concur that such concerns were specuatory at best. Offshore in conditions we had this weekend would dampened the occupants of any 21' hull on the planet.... that is if you could of gotten any others to follow.
