my 17 mirage + did on tight turns on my 23. it was mounted right height. played around a lot. best move I ever did was a 4 blade Merc Rev 4 17P, you lose a couple hundred RPM same pitch as a 3 blade, and a couple knots on the top endlost, but gain a lot-lower planning speed, better for offshore running, better stern lift, hole shot to plane, better at low speed maneuverability, never blows out.

4 blade is it.

more to the point how high above the hull bottom is the cavitation plate, minimum is 1 to 1 1/2" mine is about 2"+ and I am raising another hole when they put the trim pump on - it can't possibly go higher LOL

I was at an island with the motor half trimmed and it wouldn't go down - with susan up front it got right up and drove home - you won't blow out a Stilletto - a 17, I have a 19 with a 200 and would like to have a 17
