Fiberglass Cap to Hull? 20' MA
 

I am ready to reinstall the cap on my 20' MasterAngler. The posts I have read reccomend Screws and caulk. I was thinking about Fiberglassing the cap to the hull. The only draw back I can think of would be that if the boat was damaged you would have a harder time removing the cap. The benefit would be not have to deal with caulk drying out and having leaks. Has anyone else thought of fiberglassing this junction?

Yeah I would prolly go ahead and glass. Just the inside under gunnel tho. Not gonna take very thick glass either. Some thrubolts spaced out also. No screws. Then some 5200 between cap and hull on outside. If u dont get a good seal, water will come up hit the cap lip and rubrail and find its way between the two and inside boat.

There's a 23' restore on here that did that. I think it's awesome!!
