Evercoat everglass for fairing
Has an anyone used this product for fairing? It has Kevlar and short strand so I'm guessing it should be strong. Any thoughts?
|
I have never used it. But Kevlar is about the last choice for something I would want to sand. That said, I don't see kevlar on the MSDS for that product. Regardless of what the brochure says. Lots of talc and dolomite in the MSDS is what I saw.

The can also states that it is waterproof.

I'd look at something else for a boat... |
I have had good luck with vinylester and microbaloons. If you are in the northeast, I would check with mertons in Springfield Mass. They have a decent website, and they are super helpful on the phone.

Adding talc reduces shrinkage and cracking.

I have been using the 3M for the past 15 years here. A little pricy but great stuff. I pay around $110 a gallon.

Thanks for the replies. I was just trying to look for something at the local marine and automotive stores here in hawaii. Shipping from the mainland just costs way too much. But I guess I'll have no choice.
