Bow and aft vents on a '79 23' CC

I'm not sure if anyone has a true answer to this question... Do we need both the bow and aft vents on this boat?? I'm all for ventilation, but I wouldn't mind getting rid of the bow vents only and keeping the aft. Any input would be great.

You can read in the archives many posts on this subject ;)

Look at these vents. The forward face forward, the aft face aft. All four are designed to complete the under deck circulation. Without all four working in unison, the system does not operate to it's design & capacity. Especially in the bow, the air enters channels that funnel the air flow down and aft to keep the moisture out. Rarely will you find a well sealed deck up top going bad from under by moisture.

Some posts indicated that water enters these vents and taking water over the bow etc. As a Licensed CG Capt., I still am amazed and can't understand why people are trying to enjoy and maintain integerty within their SeaCafts by operating them in such adverse weather conditions

Good decision. I still have my original (1977) floor...solid as a rock!

why cant you put another style vent on the inside of the hull? so you can fill them on the outside.
