Hello folks I'm heading down to lauderdale for a bit of time with my boat, I have a slip for the boat but in need of a place for trailer if anyone has some thoughts. I have a reservation at a storage place but its 120 for every month, not too bad i guess unless some knows something better. More importantly I was wondering about the boating there, I have been there on my boat once when i lived in wpb and ran down to lauderdale for two days but I'm not familiar with water. Is there any sandbars etc like peanut island to anchor up and relax? Ill be on davie blvd not too far from port everglades I believe its called. Any thoughts would be great, thanks

Try dropping a pm to livetosea he is inthe area you talking about and stores his boat close by . There is also a storage yard next to dusky marine in dania (very close) But don't have a clue what they charge

Ok great thanks for the information. Also after some research I find there is non ethanol fuel available at the gas stations, will they allow you to fill a few 5 gallon cans or fill only the boat on a trailer as I have been told? Thanks again

Could you tell me where you found trailer storage? For Lauderdale, thats probably a decent price. I'm going to need a months worth in july and keeping the truck and trailer at Harbortown will be pricy.

No sandbars in the Lauderdale area. You might find boat access to the big park south of Everglades. The beach would only be a hundred yards away. Lake Maggiore is a good anchorage spot a mile or so north of Everglades. All houses around it, so no shore access, but its a good overnight spot before taking off for the Bahamas.

John Lloyd State park, also known locally as Whiskey Creek. Crowded on weekends and you can't go too far down the creek before it gets shallow.

Connor, you've stumped me on this one. I grew up in Lauderdale, but I've never heard of Lake Maggiore. Lake Sylvia and Lake Mayan are the lakes in the area you're talking about that I used to go to. There's a 7.5 HP merc outboard somewhere in the muck on the bottom of Lake Sylvia that I inadvertently deposited there in a moment of youthful exuberance back around 1973. I also saw my first Seacraft there. It was a red 18 with a 150 Merc. I wanted one bad.

It's late and have to admit to brain fade at the moment but there is the area north of port everglades up the intercostal were there is a sand bar you can anchor or raft up on . Check out the chart you ll see its triangle shaped just before you turn east towards Lake Sylvia and Bahia mar very popular on the weekends

If you're talking about the point where New River meets the Intracoastal, that used to be called Racoon Island. Back in the '70s it was above water and had some Mangrove Trees growing on it.

Yeah that the place, also haulover inlet to the south and Hillsboro inlet to the north have nicE places to anchor an swim. For cheap trailer space try the yards on ravenswood road just north of Griffin road. I think it's called banyan bay marina
