Intro, and WTB: Boarding Ladder
Good Morning,
I am new member, having bought 23 Sceptre from Mike Botelho in Fairhaven. The boat/motor etc all are great!!! Now I am working to set it up for my family. Mike gave me a broken 'boarding ladder' with attachments to fit in two receptacles on the coaming. I don't know if these were optional on Seacraft. I am about to build a new one but wonder if anyone has a good one lying around, or extra parts. Thanks so much. Jon Brush Shelter Island, NY |
I've got one of the three step ones I will be taking off my Pathfinder I would sell.

I think you are talking about the white, plastic ladder with two steps? If so, they were prone to breaking at the step attachment points and are hard to find now in decent condition. Good luck in your search and welcome to the site.

The white steps also were used to access the bow from the berth area. Someone at one time was going to try to come up with a replacement on this site. Not sure what happened with this project. I know where an original is if pictures are needed to try to replicate.

I guess a $100.

I have a similar one to the armstrong on my Contender and it works great.
You may need to find a place to store it or lock it in upside down when running. |

Regarding access to the bow using that same two step ladder, the brackets for that one are gone, but there is evidence that they were there at one time. It does not seem to me that the same ladder would work in both places, but on the off chance I would love to find a couple of spare brackets. Thanks for the help. This site is a great resource. I believe there is another Sceptre owner/Forum member in NY that has reproduced that ladder in wood. Maybe he'll chime in here with some pictures of his. |
Don't know how to re-post these pix I sent in awhile ago, so click on this. This is much better than original, is light sturdy and foldable. Amazing design someone on this site came up with and made for me from his own good will. I will forever be indebted to his kindness.
The least I can do is share the design. -------> http://www.classicseacraft.com/commu...hlight=abl1111 |
