32 seacraft hull changes
 

I have a 2000 32 seacraft and was looking at repowering with twin 250 verados. My question is do you guys think the boat can handle the extra weight of the 4 strokes? I noticed some of the newer 32sc having 275 verados but I don't know if there were are hull changes structurally through out the years that allowed for the added weight?

Any help would be appreciated

Unfortunately, we may not be much help here. Our focus is on the older hulls, primarily from the '70s and '80s. The SC 32 is a newer Tracker/BPS variant that most of us aren't familiar with. That being said, there may be someone here that has one and can help.

I don't believe there were any hull changes on any of the Mako/Seacraft boats. I don't know about the weight on that transom but I have seen quite a few older SeaVee and Contender boats repowered (twins and trips) with newer 4 strokes and a lot of them show signs of cracking on the integrated bracket due to the weight. I see a 32 from time to time repowered with F200s and they supposedly love that set-up..

Welcome Rjp44!! From the "for what it's worth" department, my brother had 225 Yamahas on his 29' SeaVee replaced with 200 HO eTecs, saved 150# on the transom, raised the water line 2 1/2" to 3" and the boat runs MUCH better. Only downside was a 0.1 decrease in mpg (2.7 versus 2.8 at it's sweet spot of 4200 rpms, if I remember correctly). Good luck.
