The boat was built in 1975 but was not purchased and titled until 1976. It is a 1975 boat that was built 09/75 so being it was towards the end of the year in the 9th month it ended up a 76 title year.

Just like today you can buy a 2016 model car soon after the middle of the year. funny the way it works but on a car lot on the 9th month of 2015 you will not find a 2015, they will be all 2016's by then.

I was told if your hull was started after July 1st it's titled for the next year. My hull was number 7 in July of 1978, however it's titled as a 1979.

As an "older" guy, I always thought that it didn't matter how old she was if she has a nice bottom…….:D
