Compression test on ETec

Anyone ever perform a compression test on an ETec?

Is the procedure the same as any 2 stroke?

Normal numbers between 100-120 psi good also?

Any info appreciated. Going to look at a used one this weekend.

Bryan,

I'd suggest you check out this web site if you haven't seen it already. Tons of useful info from very experienced tech's. Best to check compression with engine warm and of course with WOT. Crank motor by using jumper switch on starter solenoid instead of using ignition switch to avoid energizing ignition system.

Also try to get an engine history report which contains lots of useful info on motor.
