help with damage
 

Found this damaged fiberglass on my boat the other day. Its about dead center of the boat. anyone have any ideas what could of caused this and if its a major problem or minor glass and go?

Hard to tell with the picture but looks like the edge of the strake had same problem with my 1973 23cc they dint lay the csm into the tight edges as well as they should have and the gell coat held up quite well before it filled with water and caused the separation . Plenty of layup behind it but had the void we had to grind out and repair

Improper trailer / Bunk / Roller set up might be the culprit :confused:

If you are driving the boat on your trailer, it looks a little to
close to frame from my take on it....
Look and see if you have gelcoat or fiberglass markings on
the frame of your trailer..

Grind, fill and glass, ready to go.

I will second what wattaway mentioned. A few years ago I blew out a trailer roller and it dug into one of the chines and went all the way through to the CSM. I had to grind out about a 2-3 foot section of the chine to get rid of the void on the outermost edge of the chine. You could tell that the CSM could was not pressed into the mold all the way when the boat was manufactured.
