i can buy one for a grand in fair to good shape it needs a re power original twin inboard outboards may brother in law who is a great mechanic has a mercury offshore 250 that i can get for 3000 should i consider an outboard bracket and putting this together or am i looking at a pain in the ass I'm really looking for a smaller boat but a 23…. worth my time? will it be self bailing ? do these boats sink ? thanks for any advise esp to discourage me from too much work when i could be fishing….will the end boat be worth the trouble ?

Sounds like reasonable plan to me. Should self bail fine with the addition of a floating bracket.
