Spray Rails for My 23

Hi All,

Hoping someone can help me with some installation details for spray rails for my 23.

Mainly trying to figure out how long they need to be and best placement for them.

Thanks!

Why do you feel you need those on a 23'?

Because (absolutely love my rig but) it is wet. Bring on the hate mail....

I agree which is why I am installing spray rails!

Anyone have any mounting info?

Thanks,

Carl`s original design was 5 degrees down for deflection and mounted flush with the bottom of the chine back just past the console.

makes sense, but would look horrible...is it really needed?a lot of posts here say move the weight forward...I would move it aft...I like the spray coming off the last 1/3rd of the boat, at speed.. bring it on !

I like the spray rails on my 20 CC. Original to boat and they work well. I think they are thru bolted from inside and plugged from the outside.
I always thought new plastic brick molding trim reshaped would work well.

If you're getting that much spray to consider spray rails on a 23.... something is wrong. I have a 23 Tsunami that is certainly weight forward and I rarely see spray on the windshield. My guess is you may need more tab to keep the bow down in seas that are resulting in spray push that is blowing up and over with a cross wind. If that is the case, spray rails will not do you a bit of good. Also remember that adding horizontal surface area at the chine can alter the hydrodynamics of the hull possibly amplifying impact. They could also cause exaggerated bow push in a quartering sea as well.

My 23' CC came with spray rails and I still have them on they are made by "Smart Rail". I can not comment on how it is without them. I will say I had questions about how they are installed so I called the company and they were an absolute pleasure to deal with. By the way on my 23' they run the length of the chine up until the first step runs out at the forward water line(hope that makes sense) and they are put on with a chemically bonding adhesive.
