1986 23 weight

1986 23
2006 yamaha F250
t-top
170 gallons of fuel

I will be taking it to the scale to weigh soon but would like to know what you think the weight is loaded?
Just need #'s

I already know the trailer is 900 lb with 750 lb tongue weight.

If we are taking guesses, I'll say 6000 lbs. BTW, you only have 150 pounds on the axles now?

That's a lot of tongue weight.

5,670# (Loaded boat and Trailer)

the tongue weight was just a quick idea on a truck I don't use with the trailer. The hitch probably would be set to high on the truck.

So about 6000 plus the 900 lb trailer would put me at 6900 to 7000 lb total. That would be on the high end right? Just trying to find a truck that would be able to pull it comfortably.

IMO, that's too high. My earlier post of est 5,670 lbs was the reasonably loaded boat AND trailer total.

A Ford F150 or Chevy 1500 (full size - 1/2 ton) pickup will do just fine. A Tahoe, Suburban, or Expedition are good choices too. I have pulled my 23' with all those mentioned -- no problems and mine is heavier than a 23' CC. Also, my trailer brakes (only on one axle) are kinda iffy too. A newer Tundra is more like a 3/4 Ton class pickup and will work even better although depending on load may be over kill.

I think we tend to over estimate the weights of these boats due to their quality build and our own bias.

The actual dry weight (without engine) of a 23' CC is only 2650 lbs. Sceptre is 2800 lbs

My estimate of 6000 was including trailer and a couple of other things that would probably be there(batteries, anchor etc). Personally, I don't think you could get 750 lbs tongue weight on a 900 lb.(empty) trailer if you lifted it high enough to get the front wheels off the ground.
