Bracket or no bracket on a 79 23' cc
Looking for feedback on whether or not to put a bracket on a 23cc. Capt chuck you out there on this one, your boat was my model for restoration. Im worried about performance and planing ability. Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not a big bracket fan as I have converted one boat from a bracket and was much happier and set my 23 up with a hybrid option that is of much less cost than full floatation and a closed transom. Considering you have an OB hull already you might want to consider how I have set my rig up. For diving and access to the water it is hard to beat and performance wise it has been outstanding.

The 10' set back bracket is manually adjustable and allows the removal of the big stock engine well giving you all the room and more compared to a closed transom. Here's a pic of the inside. The splash well seems short but I have no issues with water getting in or backing down in seas. I also have a 3.5" raised deck so everything drain nicely as well.
