20 SF with Suzuki 140 (Edit)

I'm thinking on re powering this spring and I'm curios if anyone is running this setup. Gonna go brand new or close to it I hope. Current engine is a Yamaha 115 two stroke. I get roughly 2 miles a gallon with WOT around 5500 at 35 or so knots. Cruise is 4000 at 23-24 kts. Thanks for any insight on the Suzukis

I don't have that set up but I am a firm believer in Suzuki motors. Every suzuki in my fleet this summer except for two had zero... yes zero full days of downtime. The two were motors that I knew needed to be replaced and had the replacement in the shop. Both of them had between 3000 and 4000 hours of hard commercial use. I have 140's (same block as the 115) through 250's. I can get about 4 years or so at 700 to 900 hours per year out of them and only about 2000 hours out of a yamaha.

Hey Captain Mick, heard you sold the 18 and picked up a 23! How is?

CHANCE1234 08-27-2015 04:27 PM

Thanks Mick. That is reassuring.

Vezo- the 18 isn't out of the barn yet but very close. And I think it will stay close so I can try to get it back when my kids are older for them. The 23 is great. Ill get up with you after summer is over.

In case you want a local Etec 115. I don't know for sure, but it looks like a decent price to me? $8995 and new from a marina?

Well pulled the trigger on a brand new 2015 Suzuki 140. I couldn't pass up the deal so it should be here in a week or so.

Congrats . . . You'll love that engine.

Did you get it from Atlantic?

CHANCE1234 09-13-2015 12:09 PM

Nope, international marine in FL
