Tuna wishing out of Newburyport/ Merrimac

Gonna try to drag some stuff out as far as Scantums tomorrow (Sunday). Oops, I mean troll. I heard there were some off Plum Island last week. Rutgers surface sea temps doesn't look horrible.

I hope I don't get anything bigger than a football, because I have a 20 and 30W. I hope I even see anything. I have no idea what I am doing. I am leveraging beginner's luck on this one.

I will likely just tangle a bird with a spreader bar, call it a day, and try for some bluefish. Which is exciting enough with an umbrella rig. Which reminds me, I need a longer gaff.

But if anyone is out there hail me on 16 with my user name.

No dice. A labor day mess out there. Marked some big fish at 150 feet. But I was running a bird and a spreader bar. The seagulls too a hard look at it and finally figured it out.

Did see this though:

Broken brake lines at the ramp (not mine)
Boat burnt to the waterline (not mine!)
Capsized boat (not mine)
EMS/ water rescue of an unlucky swimmer- dislocated a shoulder(not me)
Dragging a brand new Etec up the ramp (not mine)
Running a new Merc and whaler in about 16" of water n Joppa flats, trimmed way up. For marathon distance. Hello waterpump.
A cigarette boat splitting 3 in, 3 out traffic at the mouth of the Merrimac at 3-40 knots.

Your boaters sound as Krazy as Miami Cubans full of pop on a Sunday afternoon. Sarasota's almost as bad. I quit putting the boat in the water on weekends.

Labor day weekend. Maybe that's why. But 2 weekends prior, they were scooping a body off Plum Island while I was trying to splash the boat.

I need a slip.

It's really great when they start jumping wakes infront of the party boats as we're headed out as if we can stop a 60t vessel doing 10kts on a dime if they fall off

Third most treacherous inlet on the east coast! (And not just because of the currents, rips and squirrelly swells.) The idiots add to the side show, too!
