Guys-

This is a very, very tough paint and the application instructions are very easy to follow. I used the Quantum to repaint my Mercury cowlings and I am a complete painting novice and they came out looking very nice (no runs or drips - just some orange peel that I had to buff out).

Thanks Ed, it is a very tough coating for certain !

I am looking to paint the interior and topcap of my 23. How much paint do you think I would need? Just trying to price it out.
Thanks

If your not doing the non-skid then 2 quarts of color will be plenty. If you use something else for on skid on the cap and deck, then one quart may be enough. Will you paint the console too?

I got your PM. I will eventually be painting the console. I just want to paint the top cap and deck so I can get the Seadek decking and bolsters installed.

How scratch resistant is this paint vs awl grip?

Looking to repaint my hull sides and inside of my console. Is this paint ok to be below the water line for a few hours at a time and for a day or two a few times a year?

Hi Brian-

I have found the EMC quantum to be very scratch resistant. One of my freshly painted outboard mid sections whacked the fuel dock from an errant wake and it did not leave a mark. In my experience, the paint is as durable and perhaps, more durable than Awlgrip.
