Check my math

20 seacraft with a brand new Suzuki 140 swinging a 14X20 stainless prop. If I'm doing 24 knots and my SMIS gauge says I'm burning 4.5 gal per hour at that speed does that not mean I'm getting 5.5 miles per gallon. Love that engine and hull combo. Beats the hell out of the old Yamaha 115 two stroke.

5.3 KMPG - Very impressive fuel economy!!

Sorry can't help you!!! My MPG/GPH does not compute that high!! When you got above 2 MPG you lost me. :)

TomParis 11-04-2015 04:24 PM

What kinda of fuel burn were you getting on the Yamaha 115 2S?

CHANCE1234 11-04-2015 04:46 PM

Best I can tell is one day I cruised all day from monomoy to Truro and back and covered 94 miles. I burned 45 gallons that day. So right around 2 mpg is my best guess

Just toped off after my trip today. The gauge said I burned 12.4 gallons. I actually topped of with 13.4 gallons. Not bad. I'll have to check a chart tomorrow to get a rough idea of miles traveled.

5+ sounds about right. With a 90 Opti on my last Seafari, I got 5.7 at cruise.

I am absolutely amazed at the economy of this rig. I got underway at 6am and thought my regular gas gauge was broken until 10am when it started to wiggle a little bit of the full mark.

12.4 instead if 13.4 - if that is the amount your fuel flow is off that makes you 4.9 KMPG. Still very good by any standard.

I had that engine on an 18 dual console. You ARE getting that kind of mileage. Great engines. Now, after 90+ mile from Ptown to Monomoy, how about a fishing report? :)
