Tsunami / Sceptre floor height
 

For everyone running a hermco bracker on a Tsunami / Sceptre....did you raise the floor, especially if you moved the scuppers to be out the transom???? IS it worth the effort to raise the floor if it is solid???

I did not raise the floor. Took scuppers out the back. No wet feet

Thanks Jeff. For anyone that did raise the floor, it looks like just pulling the floors up would be very difficult. There's a ton of hardened putty gluing them to the stringers.
I thought one approach would be to cut out pieces of the existing floor leaving a grid pattern to put spacers on top of.....but that means a whole new floor over the spacers.

And a lot of weight if you leave that below the new floor. If your are considering raising the deck you cut it all out, remove putty and build coosa floor supports. Replace entire deck with nidacore and be done with it forever.

Thanks Kmoose. I guess once you start cutting out the old floor, just removing it is the best direction. Then you get to do everything under it right as well. How stiff is the 1/2 inch nidacore....or more importantly how do the supports need to be spaced or is it best to foam it all. What is a reasonable amount to raise the floor... 1 inch?? Without loosing too much freeboard at the corners....

Well that is a short question with a long answer that varies considering what you want to do. I wouldn't consider anything less than 3/4 and how strong depends on the amount of glass you put on it. I will be using it exclusively on my next build using it for decks, cap and gunnels. As for how my current sled is raised, it was done with plywood on a web of pt 2x4s and glassed in. I will document how my project boat is done but we are a ways from that.
