Love the 18's. How about some more pics of that transom and bracket. Is that a 150? How's the performance?

I'll get some more pics later today. Yes, it's a 150, just rebuilt powerhead so not sure exactly yet what performance specs will be, still doing the break in. But, it ran 47MPH @ 4900RPM spinning a four blade 20 Inch with four people in the boat and a half tank. So I'm assuming better than that with just me in it.

Looks great. If that 4900 rpm was wide open, I wouldn't run it with that prop anymore. To much pitch will kill that motor early. 20" pitch is a lot of prop for a 150 on an 18' cc.

I'd love to have that setup, but, would hate to let the 4 stroke go. Maybe I can move the console up to the fish box! (:p) Talk about fishing room.

If that was wide open I would agreed but I still haven't ran it WOT, remember I'm still doing the break in on the powerhead. I've got another hour before I can run it out. So this weekend should tell all. I spoke to my local yammi dealer down here (who is also an old friend of mine) and he said the RPM range for that motor is 4500-5500, and he would feel comfortable with it anywhere above 5000. I'm personally hoping for 52-5300. We shall soon see....

How do you like that 140 Suzuki so far?

uncleboo 06-15-2016 04:03 PM

I love everything about it, except the weight. I love the fuel mileage! Been 35 miles out of Oregon Inlet, trolled for 4 or 5 hours and only burned 27 gallons of fuel.

performance update

With just me, 1/2 tank of fuel, WOT- 5200 RPM's and teeter tottering between 49 and 50 MPH.
