Hey y'all, I'm Andy. I've been registered for a while but never posted much as I haven't owned a Seacraft yet. Previously owned 2 Shamrocks, a Mako 224, and a Sea Hunt. On my way to FL this morning to look at fishlips' Sceptre. Fully expecting to bring it home. Blow the horn if you see an '85 Sceptre behind an F-150 headed towards Charleston, SC today on I-95.

In other discussion, anybody know of any specific locations for trailer shops between SC and Sanford, FL along I-4 and I-95? I scrambled to get my trailer ready yesterday. Don't have any spare bearings on me and only 1 spare tire. Going to try to pick up a couple bearings at least as spares.

There is a West Marine in Daytona Beach about a mile east of I-95 just north of the junction with I-4

Most Wal Marts will have a hub that will get you by.

That is my emergency plan for the back up plan.

Barry texted first thing this morning said he had a couple spare hubs I could have with it. Along with all kinds of other goodies. Went to get a hull and came back with a hull full of stuff. I at least owe you a fishing trip once I get the boat ready.

The boat made it to the curb in front of house. Left Sanford at 1:00 after gassing up and eating lunch. I stopped short of Jacksonville to check hubs. Again short of Savannah. And again on 17 about 30 miles out. It was uneventful until the fiancé texted asking if I wanted to join some friends for dinner. Of course shortly after agreeing to it, one hub went up in smoke maybe 15 minutes from home, on hwy 17 with minimal shoulder. Collected the pieces and limped it home. Driveway is roll curb and uphill, so I'll have to put on one of the spare hubs to get it in the driveway and to its parking spot without dragging the axle. Picked up a nail in a tire but it never leaked and didn't have any flats. Overall much more uneventful than it could have been if it happened on 95.

Looks like grass cutting and skim coating ceiling drywall tomorrow just took a back seat to changing a trailer hub to get the boat out of the street.

Congrats on the purchase of your Sceptre. I have one and am just up the road in Columbia and I am a Clemson Grad. Go Tigers!

I met Barry over at Terry England's "Ghetto Yacht Club last year before the Homosassa Gathering. Definitely a good guy in the Classic SeaCraft tradition! Glad to hear you (almost) made it home w/o problems!

Thanks guys. i know I'll have plenty of questions, but will probably answer some myself as I start digging in. Here she is loaded on my trailer ready to head north.
