Pic request- closed transom 23's

Hi guys.
I just ordered a Hermco bracket for this winters project.

I am torn on what layout I should do on the transom.
I love the look of a curved transom top gunnel.
But I really want a livewell above deck.
Also, dont want to impede bilge access too much.

I was thinking a 15-20 gal oval or round tank, glassed into the transom.

Would love to see pics of what you guys have done.

Also, any info on manufacturers of drop in livewells would be awesome.

Thanks!

Or you could go hybrid like I did.

I like the slighter curves on the transom for a 23. While I get the intergrated bait well in the transom, I think your boat might be happier if you integrate it into the leaning post or seats - not sure of your set-up. You'll be moving a lot of weight aft, and it might be favorable to move 150-200 lbs of water foward a bit.

Here's a link to one of the guys on the site - "cbboatworks," i think he builds them:

I also like what one of the Cali Mako guys did, using what he had...

Ill be running the Hermco Bracket setup for twins, with a 30" single 2008 Yamaha F250.
My boat drains fine now with factory level floor and scuppers. I also have a 50lb jack plate on the transom that will go away.

I dont like the lean post wells as much.
Kind of awkward to get your cast net into when its full.
On the transom you can just stand up and empty it.

Also, i lose my cooler space.
We do a lot of tuna and shark fishing. Ice is a premium on a 23cc.

Im leaning towards building a custom tank for the transom.

I think a custom tank would be the way to go. An oval tank that size will fit into the transom. Or a round but deep tank will work as well. I friend has a round tank that is only about 18" wide but 3' deep and keeps a ton of bait.
