I have been noticing a few SeaCraft inboards (23SF) and a few other models for sale on Cape Cod Craigslist lately for about 30k +. Anybody check these out? Not trying to promote or plug just wondering why they are not listed in the For sale section on this site. I know some have been members or at least the former owners were.

I can't answer why their not posted here, but as someone who has ran a craigslist search daily for 2 years, I can say with certainty that it is extremely rare to see multiple straight inboards for sale at once. It is rare for even one to be for sale, at least in New England!

The yellow one had a cool resto thread. At first it seemed a little high to me but realistically if a shop did the rebuild I am assuming it would be around 100.

I spent a few years looking till I found one. Hundreds of hours later and about 20k+ in materials and parts give or take and still going. I think they only made 78 Inboards in the 70,s. Good luck with the new boat.

I think a lot of boat ads you see here in New England in the off months are basically "winter fishing expeditions". Post your boat for sale and see if you get any nibbles...

However, I agree those boats are not necessarily overpriced based on how much it costs to rebuild one. A new modern gas inboard is 10k alone. The biggest factor in selling these older boats is that most guys can't shell out 30k cash for a used boat as its nearly impossible to get a loan on an old boat. Boats that fall in the 10-12k price range are the ones that sell as this is what is affordable for the common man.

Took me years to find my inboard -- was second in line on at least two boats and both of those were purchased by the first person in line. The one I bought was down in Delaware and I happened to be the first in line. I got lucky and found it as they had it listed incorrectly as a 24' boat.

How many backyards could possibly have 2 straight inboard cc's? Some sort of optical phenomenon!

Isn't there a law against owning 2 of those??:D

rather have issues and own two boats than issues with one! Lol

Kinda like getting a loan on a 72 Chebby C20.
They have no ideeeeer.

Cash is king and not many have that kinda cabbage as discretionary.
