My FICHT 115

So I have owned my Seacraft for a year now, and by my estimate I have put about 100 hours on my motor since I have owned it. So I changed the spark plugs and the gear oil in the lower unit. I know I need to change the impeller but im more nervous about that since you have to take the lower unit off and disconnect the shift linkeage. Anyway here is a picture of my plugs they looked pretty fouled to me.

Not sure about a Ficht but that's normal for an E-TEC. Really nothing to worry about as they still run fine like that. I'd try to get a factory service manual if you don't already have one. Factory recommends also replacing nylon washers on drain and fill plugs when changing gear oil.

Disconnecting the shift linkage on my E-TEC was easier than on my old 115 carb'd motor due to good access to everything when lower shrouds are removed. Once you have lower unit off, take it to dealer and have them perform pressure and vacuum tests on it to determine if you also need to change the prop shaft seals or the upper seals below the water pump. There is a spec on shift shaft height, which should be checked to insure no shifting problem after installation.
