OK smart people
What does this mean?? HIN 23123-OSIC72.
I need someone to let me know what the HIN means. Mine is simple because it starts with SEC.... |
What boat is it on Don?
You know a little more detail.... |
Yeah, my brother has come back over to the "dark side"!! After a few months of looking, he just bought a '72 I/O which he's going to completely rebuild into a bracketed OB, it really needs a bunch of rebuilding, not just a little bit a lot. He's going to sell his 1999 29' CC with cabin SeaVee which is way beyond perfect. So if you know anyone looking for a "mac daddy" SeaVee let me know.
If you see "billsseacraft" on the site, fair warning, it's my bother coming back to the SC family 15 years after selling his Secptre. |
Ok, Now it makes sense......
Till you see the state assigned HIN for the Ole' 1970 NoBoner.. As follow: FLZD98790770-1287 I know goofy, right.. |

Hin
i would venture to say "Hull Identification Number"
|
Yeah Ken my HIN is simple and makes sense to me. SEC3F0070778. Seacraft, 23', superfish model, hull #7, July of 1978. You are correct, yours is goofy.

. Hin would be the same as vin (vehicle identification number for vehicles) Manufacturer code HIN would be Hustler Industries. The FLZ I read that is the code for Florida homemade boats. (uscgboating.org) |

In case you were wondering. I was told the reason why some HIN start with FLZ is due to original HIN not visible or can't be found, assigned to a vessel that was classified as homemade a boat made by a manufacturer prior to Nov 1, 1972 |
