300hp Shaft length

I’ve searched the forum and can’t find a definitive answer. For those who have done it, what length shaft outboard should I put on a double flotation bracket? I have seen some people use a 25 inch and I have seen some people use a 30 inch.

30" is the norm. No Bones recently put a 25" on a single bracket on their 23 Sceptre.

Hermco double gets a 30” motor

Great. Thanks. 30” 300 G2 it is.

After talking to multiple people I decided to have Stoner boat works make my bracket. He is making it a double tub that is 80" wide with a 25" setback. He told me I will be able to run a 25" shaft engine just fine. After he told me that, today I ordered a 2018 Evinrude G2 300. Fingers crossed this all works out.

The clearance on a G2 when totally tilted up is like 29", maybe 28", from the mounting bracket of the engine to the wall of the transom, I'm not positive let me look. I'llsee if I can find the document from Evinrude.

OK I'm back, check out this post. Because the eTec tilts at 80 degrees you have to be careful for clearance. Looks to be right at 26". You should be good.

Yeah, I can attest the 30” bracket provides ample room for a full tilt allowing the lower to be completely out of the water.

Thanks guys. The shop I'm going through told me they have mounted a G2 on a 25" platform and it's close but works fine

I saw on Stoner Boatworks' Instagram page what might be your bracket under construction. Yours??
