I have seen quite a few Seacrafts with biminis and I like the idea of having one on my boat but I was wondering what you do for a VHF antenna?

Pretty comfortable with handheld VHF. Off shore runs here on the right days are 12 to 14 miles out and there are plenty of boats around...

The last boat I sold a couple of months ago, an 18' bay boat, the buyer asked why I removed the VHF, I told him I was always in cell phone reception when fishing and did not need a VHF and I don't like antennas in a casting type boat.

However offshore is a different animal.....

We used to put vhf on one side and loran on the other.

On a 71 SF that I ran back in the day, it had a Bimini top and built in VHF. The antenna was mounted on the cover board - starboard side of console. Easy to chase the wire down over & up...
