BPS version question
 

hello,
and new to the forum... I just purchased a 2005 23 seacraft. I was told by a friend that there is not much love from this forum on these boats, only potter era vintage. I have read everything there is to read about these boats, quality is hit or miss, i happen to have a nice ride.... is there another dedicated committed community for the BPS vintage boats I should look into? I am hoping to be welcome into this community as I am a positive and respectful contributor, 100 GT master. I have owned boats for over 30 years, never a seacraft, always wanted one. finally got one, and love it. i like the newer ones mainly because of the extra storage they offer, and no wood construction. the boat is solid as a rock and even has spray rails installed from the freeman factory to bill potter specs. i have never run a 23 seacraft until this past weekend so i have no idea how they affect the ride, good or bad. i never even took the boat for a seatrial, as i was never concerned about ride quality of the vessel. but my first ride was awesome, solid as a rock. even my wife was amazed, the ride is very comparable to the Albemarle 24, which I have 1000s hours on that hull, only without the violent snap roll the albemarle has. I place my hat in hand and hope to be welcomed into the community even though I do not have a true potter, but a bass pro special.

Welcome....from another non Potter owner...I got a little flake from some guys on here when I sold my 20 1970 Potter...and bought a 1998 Tracker 21 SeaCraft....LOL....all are Great boats imo

We love ALL SeaCrafts! From what I gather, the site was started for the Moesly and Potter enthusiasts. There is just more knowledge of those here than the later versions. Judging by all the slacker...uhh Tracker models owned by several of the members, it's just a matter of time before this site will be a one stop resource for anything SeaCraft. Welcome aboard, Captain!

Dang Ken, just a day or so ago I saw one of those Prius' with not only a Hillary sticker but an Obama sticker PLUS one of those colored flag stickers gay people like!! And yes the A-hole was in the left lane on I-75 going a smooth 59 mph with about 25 cars/trucks behind her! I think all Prius drivers do this as a hobby.

well thanks for the welcome guys, certainly different:D no I do not drive a Prius or have a hillary sticker I actually blow the horn at them, I drive a silverado and am very conservative, don't like Honda drivers even though my wife drives one, I'm not a tree hugger but like turtles, and I guess with all that said I own a BP vintage Seacraft because the bank laughed at me when I told them i wanted to buy a 40 year old Potter but gave me the money in 5 minutes to buy the 13 year old Bass Pro Special.:eek: go figure....

I`ve been here for a decade or so and one thing I learned early on is this is a no BS
group of folks.

I asked questions about my `89 20 and got crickets. Why?
Because few here had taken one apart. We will not blow smoke up your arse just
to read what we typed. As time marches on, we learn more about the later models,
but we count on new members to carry the torch.

"The Ride" never changes, the years just get younger.

We don't care if you use poly and plywood or Coosa and epoxy, as some have a Strick
{haha} budget, and others are horse traders.

All are welcome!

Some years and models are more respected with good reason, but all are welcome
