Looking for Mortise Bolt source

Help! Does anyone know of a source for a Mortise Bolt with a 1" backset?

I had a chromed 1 inch backset bolt in the mahogany cabin door I refinished, but it was so corrooded it was unsalvagable.

I can only find sources for 1.5 " or 1.75" backsets, either here in the USA or England.

At this point I would take chrome or brass, keyed or not keyed. Any ideas?

I am trying to finish the cabin door, and have no way to keep it closed under way, without putting in some other type of door catch.

You might reach out to Jamestown Distributors. They have some specialty hardware, didn't see your latch, but, they may have a source.

McMaster-Carr?

SailorChlud 05-25-2018 09:14 AM

Thanks, Guys - I had checked McMaster Carr, and the Ives catalog previously, without finding the latch with a 1" backset dimension. The ebay listing for the Ives latch is exactly the right item - but the listing did not specify the backset dimension, so I messaged the seller.

Frankly, I had googled the internet all over the world for results, until my eyes were bleary, and guess this item is not made in this size anymore.

I appreciate the effort.
