I ran into this company after extensive research and decide to gamble a little.
GOOD CALL. The company is Machine Plates Online out of Wisconsin. They have a online request for quote feature, which I did. With almost an immediately response I was asked if I had a pic of the original. I did so I sent a pic. The next day I was emailed a proof of the new plate too see how it would look. It was great so I was contacted be the Designer and payed for it (>50.00 for two plates). From first contact to delivery was one week. The plate is a materiel called DuraBlack Aluminum, it is MIL. Spec and Marine Grade Anodized Aluminum according to the Rep I talked too(Rebecca I think). I am beyond happy with this product. Check them out

Yeah they look even better in person.
Now if I just had more time to make the 79' 18sf it goes on look as good.
I had hoped to have it restored in time for its 40th birthday but thats looking unrealistic.

I second the good review of Machineplatesonline. Used them for my plates and they came out great. Not cheap, nor cheaply made - just solid.
