Flip Hull Without Cap
 

I should finish up tabbing in my new floor on my 23' this weekend and planned to remove the cap to recore and flip the hull and place on 4x4s on the trailer. Is the hull and inner liner enough to support the hull or do i need to add some braces or something?

Curious, why are you flipping it if you are recoring the cap?
I can't say for sure, but I would be leery of flipping a boat with no cap.
Why not recore the cap, put it back on, and then flip it?

I would be carful about even moving boat to much. They get floppy when you take them apart. I have some 2X4s I have drill across gunnels side to side just to keep it aligned while doing Transome and deck work. I will not pull cap till floors are completely glassed in. No expert on this but as the other guy posted try and do it without flipping . There was something posted on here about this and a build that had problems from this with everything lining up

That was the 20 that Strick did. Ended up nice, but caused a lot of extra work.

Yes that is were I saw that.

Yep that was me boat got wider by about 2 inches..this was after I redid the floor and cored the sides with balsa. I had to split the cap at the bow to make it fit.

thanks, glad i asked. The reason i asked is because i have someone helping with sanding and spraying so i figured id work on the cap while hes on the hull but that sounds like i'll lose time, not pick it up.
