Rocket Trailers

A frend of mine just purchased Rocket Trailer Company.

I went by today and took a tour and he is going to do some nice things there.

If someone is in need of a trailer you should give them a try.

A friend of mine is a dealer for Rocket and got me the new trailer I'm sporting now. Such a nicely built trailer with all stainless hardware. My only issue is the cheap ass lights and wires they put on them. Maybe your buddy can start with that. :)

It's not just Rocket, but most all new trailer manufacturers. Why the hell won't anyone build a suitable trailer light set up for salt water use. They would be rich after a year.

Its not like the stuff is available as I have done my previous trailers with home runs of tinned marine wire, hard wire grounds and proper crimps with shrinks. It can be done right but trailer companies just don't seem to want to do it.

NSS!!!

14 ga extension cord "home run" from hitch to lights...LED lights only....one down the left and one down the right, no openings, ground directly to the light...not trailer, heat shrink connectors with adhesive heat shrink over that. Once and done. Only takes a bit of extra effort. Did it on my Hewes trailer and it was perfect after 14 years.

I'll Mention it to him

And marker lights should have home runs to hitch area as well! Only 1 of my three are working after a year due to cheap components and non-shrink connectors. Hell, even if the used shrink connectors they would use the wrong crimper. :(

Owens and Sons, Aluminum Slide-On. Sound like a parrot and have no affiliation. Try it...

Bet on it!! This is the good one at a good price for heat shrink connectors.

That's the way to do it. Mine also has clearance lights on each side that are tapped into the running light and ground leads. Connector there is filed with dielectric grease before crimping.

I have used many brands and have not found any that work as well as this:
