I've read how to use a carpenters square to find transom angle, however is this possible with motor hung. getting ready to order bracket in next week or 2 and still gotta buy a carpenters square. am I gunna be able to get measurement on 20in transom with motor hung? anybody know what the 75 18sf transom angle is.

I have one of these that has come in handy over the years although I dont remember paying that much for it. There should be enough room to get a measurement with this little tool.

I assume each degree past 90 degrees is 1 degree? Therefore if keep to transom is 102 I have 12degree transom

Do your self a favor and spend the $10 and buy one ,cause if you go by someone’s word and it turns out to be off then you’ll be kicking your self in the $ss when the bracket dosent sit properly.
“Just sayin”

You should be able to fit the small side of the square between the Motor mounts , if not yank the motor , you’ll be happy you did , I see a lot of guys on the water and their brackets look ridiculous cause it isn’t level with the boat .

I measured from the hull outside edge on both port and starboard side with carpenters square. I also measure as tight to engine on both sides. all three produce 3.75 assuming I have a 15 degree transom. would you guys trust this or do I really need to pull motor and measure off of keel? I measure many times between motor and the outside edge just couldn't get centered on keel. imready to order my bracket otherwise.

I don’t remember exactly on my 18 build but it was about 14 to 16°.

Go to the Armstrong site. It shows how to use square to determine transom angle. Most are about 15 degree. 1 degree either way won't be noticeable or affect performance.

will be setup for 25in shaft motor. going back and forth between zuk 140 and mercy 115prosx. gunna put the yams 2 stroke 115 with 5in bay mfrg kit and use that as baseline to make decision on motor. the merc weights about same so that will help me make decision if I wanna jump up to 140 Suzuki
