Looking to launch out of Ryders Cove - have not been out of there in a couple of years. I am looking on info on the cuts - which one is better? How the buoys are laid out etc. Any info would be appreciated.

Kev definitely the 07 or north cut. It has been marked well all year but can still be nasty at low tide or with a swell. Follow the buoys and/or a commercial boat heading out for first time. I've gone in and out 20 times this season in decent weather without issue 26 CC. Plenty of smaller boats do it safely on nice days. Be careful coming around Fox Hill on the way out...that's just after where Crow's pond and Ryder channel meet up. If you see an exposed sand bar just southeast of that area be careful. Can get to two feet around there pretty quick.

Use north cut like Blackfin says. No swell no problem. If swell the outer bar can suck.

Use the north cut, inlet has channel markers that are all orange high flyers. This year it's a pretty straight shot out into the cut, just watch the tides. I would recommend avoiding low tide if possible. We played it safe and only went out a few hours before or after high tide in our 30' Luhrs this year. We sounded it at low tide on a calm day in my father's Robalo, lowest depth was 3 ft at low tide about halfway out (low waves and just rollers that day).

Anyone venture out in the last few days? Guessing there were a few rollers. We shellfished Stage Harbor this afternoon and there was super low tide.
