raising stringers on a 4 stringer 20
I saw this picture of a conch being build and couldn't help but think that the vinyl 2x3 gutter pipe would make a great form for raising stringers 2" on a 20 seacraft. You could laminate 4+ layers of 1708 over these and they'd be plenty sgtrong. They would also make amazing rigging tubes the length of the hull.

Pictures like that cure all of my youthful impulses to take on a restoration. Keeping mi eyes open for a restored 20-23.

Nice Tim! if you don't want to use as rigging tube you can just fill them with foam.

Used these on a Bert awhile back, they worked out better for clearance over a fuel tank than a round pipe would have.
I trust Conch will have a little bit more chafe protection than this travesty on a 750k "Invincible" cat i saw at a boat show a couple weeks ago... Hey at least they gelcoated the tabbing though! https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4767/...50a5165c99.jpgUntitled by dirtwheelsfl, on Flickr |
