We had one on here for 4 years that just sold from bilgerat in October for
chump change ... :o

They are sometimes hard to find as only 80 were built but it seems that once they surface people don't tend to want them and they sit or go for way less than their worth. Ive seen a few given away, a few that were fairly expensive but one will surface sooner or latter. If I don't find some time to do something with mine I will let you know. Its got a new fir transom and a custom fiberglass flotation bracket but the rest us mainly untouched. Hope to get mine functional this spring (said that last year too. also the year before that I think?) but like to concentrate on the 27 semester really...

Make sure you get some big trim tabs. It's much different ride then the 23.

Shouldve iterated id like to find a full project, been sitting in the bushes or in the corner of a yard type. Figure itll be a good while before one pops up so wanna get the feelers out now. Noted on the tabs and CG sensitivity Strick, been reading a bunch.

I know the guy who has the 25 for sale on this site and the hull is deal at the price he has on it. You would have far more invested in a project hull to get in the condition of this one.

There were only 80 made and roughly 24 of those are accounted for now. You are searching for 1 of 56 25 seafaris left across the entire globe. I bet a bunch of the 56 unaccounted for 25 seafari hulls were taken out by hurricannes b/w 1971 - 2018. Good Luck!! If you want one . . . I would try to strike a deal with the seller. It beats grinding fiberglass for 2 years and spending double that redoing a ragged out hull.

I realize its a unicorn, thats why im posting here. If anyone knows where one might be, it would probably be someone on here.

This may ruffle some feathers but im looking for one to do a CC with. Notched transom with a single 300, flat cap and phonebooth style console.

Some folks like writing checks. I like creating. With raw materials and 2 hands, which have to run a grinder sometimes unfortunately. Dying breed i suppose...

yep, you are looking for a stripped hull; my sympathy on that grinder.

The concept is interesting and fun to think about. Can you reduce the weight of the cabin and high cabin cap such that it will equal the raised cg from the engine? Notched transom keeps it as low as possible, but its still a lot of engine weight up high and this hull can roll like mad if you muck with the vertical cg too much. Fore and aft cg is another issue and putting the engine weight aft means coming up with a lot more weight forward from somewhere. Extra fuel tank forward of the main tank bulkhead? There's room for 30 gallons or so, even after putting in the bulkhead that Potter left out.

You might want to think about keeping it an I/O and reducing the height of the engine box. The deep hull keeps the engine box low already and it could be several inches lower, not too much impediment to fishing room. Keeping the I/O and reducing weight of cap and cabin and you should have a very stable hull with far less roll than its deeprise suggests.

Note: the ride is so good that you can put the console further forward than in any other boat.

You might want to play with some cg calculations to get a rough cut idea.
