Set Back!

Having replaced the transom in my 23sf around 2000, I thought the deck was going to be my only project but after poking around the outer areas of the transom where the trim tabs are attached, I discovered rotten ply. So another project. I think I'm going to 30" this time. Any thoughts?

Yes, 30” without a doubt.

Hey Moose, if I leave the splashwell as is and just add 5 more inches to the transom, will I need to add a couple knees to support the extra height?

Add a parallel support

Raise the deck and build a support like Chuck shows for the deck to sit on and tie it in. Go with Bluewater 26 in the transom build and enjoy a strong and eternal transom you can hang anything on.
