300 Suzuki digital questions

Morning. I have been keeping up with the talk on other tread about engine height. Is there anyone on site with a Armstrong 72 wide bracket for 30 inch shaft with a 300 Suzuki on a 1973 center consol or close with 300 Suzuki 30 inch shaft.
Looking for performance numbers ,witch Hole they used on bracket (Armstrong told me top hole). Consol location from back of transom to front of consol.
Prop they were happy with. I know there is a lot of info but it would be nice to get insight from someone with my setup. Trying to get right or close first time. Thx Keith oldboat

Keith,
I start with the top hole regardless of set up. Way easier to work down than up and you usually end up higher than you calculate.

Yes that is what Armstrong told me when I got bracket. Was hoping someone had same set up but yes will take your advice . Thx

I’ve got a Mattison’s bracket. Had twin 115 25” Suzuki’s. Went to a 30” 300 Suzuki.
Both sets of motors performed best with motor mounted high.

My 115’s cruised at 25kts 2.6mpg regular family load. My 300 gets 3.4-3.7mpg at the same load.

Top speed on the 115’s was about 44 best run, my 300 has touched 53 in ideal conditions with a radar and Bimini. 300 is a great match! I have seatow for good measure!
