Ping pong ball scuppers

1 Attachment(s)
I’m nearing the end of my build, hoping to get it in the water this week. Picked up some ping pong ball scuppers from TH marine and doesn’t look like these will fit at all. I know a lot of you guys use them, am I missing something here or have the wrong part? I didn’t see an option for a larger size in the TH marine catalog.

Ping Pong Ball Scuppers

I was considering ping pong ball scuppers for my motorwell drain until Capt Chuck mentioned they could be an annoyingly noisy at anchor, drifting or when you would like some quiet moments. I decided to try the flapper style, but have not installed them yet.

I didn't like mine because I keep my boat on the trailer and the trash from the trees and whatnot kept clogging them up.

I use them on a mooring that sees some snotty weather and they work quite well(haven't noticed too much noise). Water drains while underway or while bouncing forward/aft when tied up.
In my case they mount directly to the transom, which is flush. I don't think they are made to have a male piece fit inside(all jokes aside).

I had them and hated the noise. They did not keep any more water out than the rubber flap kind, so I went back to them and tossed these in the trash. Just my experience.

I put them on my 23. Flush to the transom. Heard how they didn’t work blah blah. Have been very happy with them and preventing water/letting water out. I have growth in mine and still work well. Need to clean...

I had ping-pongs on my 18.
They are kind of noisy but now my wife and I associate that noise with sunny afternoons hanging out at anchor in Cape Cod Bay. Never found the noise annoying.
Boat lived on a mooring, and for 5 years they never gave me an issue.
Cleaned them at haul-out in the fall.
I had mine over flush glassed-in fiberglass tubes though, not thru-hulls.

On my new 23 Sceptre I used these:

Also over flush glassed in fiberglass tubes.
