25" or 30" shaft
 

I'm restoring a 77' 23' CC with a Armstrong bracket..are you guys putting a 25" or 30" lower unit? Thanks!

Depends on what bracket. If the bracket is made for twins, then go with a 30" single. The standard Armstrong is made for a 25" single.

A 30" shaft single should work. To be sure, run a straight line back from the keel, and measure down from the top of the mounting plate on the bracket. It should be 30" plus 3" (1" for every 12" of setback), so around 33".

I have an Armstrong bracket made for a single motor application, 30" setback. I have a 25" shaft Suzuki DF 250, mounted with the A/V plate 4" above the keel.

Looks like the bracket is mounted really high. The swim platform will be a bit above the water. Good side is most people cant get the outboards up high enough but you shouldn't have that issue where yours is. I would take some measurements like mentioned and see where you are.

Thanks guys.. boat is down in Maryland right now..t-top is being built and upholstery/coaming being done..then back up north to me to finish her off before spring..fingers crossed..I will post progress pics as we move forward with the build!
