Casting deck on 23 question

Hi,
Can someone tell me if the step is 90 degrees or if it’s angled a bit. Mine seems to be over 90 . Out of square by about 3/4 inch . Just curious as I’m about to glass my deck.
Thanks for any help .

My step on my 1975 is 10 5/8" high and there is a bow in the vertical, port to starboard . The high spot/peak of the bow is 8" down from the top of the casting deck. From the top of the casting deck down to the 8" mark the casting deck sits back(toward the bow) from the vertical by 3/4". From the peak of the bow to the sole, it is out of plumb about 1/8". Hope that gives you what you need, If not let me know what else could help. My deck should be intact until next week.

Thanks. I was wondering if it was done on purpose or just a mold issue. Doesn’t make sense for it not to be plumb. Or am I missing something. I would think it should be 90 degrees to the deck.

When you make a part like that in a mold you don't want it at 90 - usually you want the mold to 'open up' about 2 degrees so you can get the part out.

Good point about the mold popping definitely makes sense. I think I’m going to bring it up to 90 degrees with a piece of 1/2 Coosa and some thickened epoxy.

You would be less likely to trip on it if is was at an angle slightly
