T top material
 

So the TTop is done and installed in the boat with the alterations needs and it came out pretty nice.

Now comes which material to use for the cover
Most use Sunbrella or Weblon, but eventually you need to replace it

Is the not type of lightweight fiberglass or plastic skin that could be used instead of? Nothing to walk on but a more permanent solution?

I prefer Weblon over Sunbrella for T-Top fabric personally. Hard top would be the Mac Daddy!

Just saw a new refurb for sale that had the latest Sunbrella uptop. Then they somehow do the Weblon (waterproof, i think) in a separate color if you want, on the underside. Seemed pretty bad azz.

Yes it did. Can’t remember topside color but meant it was Maoist current UV protection. Believe it was white. Underside was the Weblon grey I believe. Nice look.

I used a heavy exterior vinyl trim material from ProTrim. I don't think it's still available but you could do the same thing with smooth finish FPR from Lowes or HD. It's been 13 or 14 years and it still looks new.

I don't know what the guy used on my top but it is super puncture resistant and tough. It's waterproof top and bottom and tighter than a snare drum. I would never go back to sunbrella.

Hey Ken- can you elaborate on your distaste for Sunbrella please. I realize your remark may not pertain for use as a bimini which I am considering redoing. BTW I like your fixed top on your 23, but I need to fold it down to get under a bridge to good slalom water.

Weblon for sure in my opinion. Best ttop product I have used. When the pelicans or seagulls sh*t on it, easy to clean off versus creating a leak in your Sunbrella top. Last top I had lasted almost 7 years. Only reason I replaced was because it was black and a bit faded. It’s almost like a plastic versus fabric.

My only distastes for Sunbrella was it's lack of waterproof, stetching and the fact it was easily punctured. On a spear boat that tends to be a big factor when people (including myself) forget it's overhead and lift their gun into it. But for a bimini it is probably fine.
