Location west wall of Gulf stream

Have had to take it easy for a lil bit to recover from a lil heart work So I was checking the location on the west wall of the Gulf Stream yesterday and today 31 miles off Ft. Lauderdale! I’ve noted it as close as 3 and normally 12 to 18mi. or slightly more but 31 surprised me.Leading to wonder what is the driving force that causes it to fluctuate so much ? Wind direction seam not to fit as our wind is light just know. Temperature has been towards the cool side but normal , haven’t checked to see if the speed might have increased and caused it to shift towards the Bahamas. Can’t seam to get a answer for the shift anyone else have a explanation they can reference?

I don't know what is happening, but it's hard to believe that it is closer to Sebastian inlet at 22 miles than Jupiter at 25. The stream seems to be snaking all, over.
