Remember when things were simpler

Seems like now the wiring for boats are just out of control.

I know boats and equipment have progressed, but now it seems you need a degree in electrical engineering to understand all the things that go on

Looks pretty simple...and clean!

Clean, yes. Simple, no.

It is the thing I am most worried about doing my first restoration. I will be doing lots of research and planning before starting.

I agree it's clean, but simple I don't think so. There's a lot going on with all the wiring, switches, breakers and everything thing else going on there.

I think that to most boaters it could become confusing if anything goes wrong.

Yes I will have some of the pieces that the pictures have but not nearly as much...it's only a 20 with a single engine. 2 bilge pumps 1 live well pump, nav lights, Garmin, VHF stereo, and some courtesy lights.

Back in the day while I was growing up it was much simpler. Just my 2¢ worth.

I thought that was a paddle boat:D

It’s clean and to an electrician fairly straight forward. Could it be simplified further…definitely. The challenge is making something expandable and universal. Corporate heads issue marching orders and engineers have to design it. Electricians have to make it.

I miss the days where everything was customized to your application. Currently, I’m going to have to depin a LS engine harness b/c there are no Holley terminator x’s available. That’s a spaghetti bowl.
