Height for swim platform install
1 Attachment(s)
What have others with a 20 done as to the height to install a swim platform?
Looking for a measurement from the rub rail to the top of the platform if anyone can help. Toke a look at a picture of the boat in the water and it seems like the trim raps are in the way Suggestions? |
Went and bought a Armstrong ladder returned the swim platform

If you're diving that's the best bet.

Plarform with a ladder
Hey Jorge
I have both a swim platform and a telescoping ladder that is attached underneath the platform so one doesn’t sit on the ladder The platform is great for a pee break for the ladies, putting on fins or skis, a jump off spot for the kiddies or just relaxing. I modified mine thru the years to add the ladder after my guests got older and heavier and later to enable trim tabs. I took photos, but didn’t get them posted before your decision. |
I tried to install the ladder today but ran into a snag. It's a Sea Choice 3 step ladder
Although it came with the mounting hardware. When I went to mock it up the ladder would not 1 clear the tabs as did not have enough of a angle and would go straight down. Seems like the angle of the transom and the mounting hardware did not let it work right. Maybe a aluminum spacer behind the mount would be the trick. Looks like I need at least 3 inches for it to work. Has anyone run into this problem? |

I originally bought a swim platform with the 3 steps ladder tucked underneath but the trim tabs were the issue. I would love the platform |

You will either have to build it yourself or modify a purchased platform. In any case best wishes. Terry thanks for the pictures. Looking at them gave me the idea of having one made out of aluminum. Going to visit a couple of fabricators this week and see what they say. I saw one similar here for sale but this one would need to work around the tabs

Martin Marine Designs in South Carolina builds a very nice one in SS tubing for the little Whalers. I'm sure he could build anything custom you wanted. http://www.martinmarinedesign.com/
